National Archive in Piotrków Trybunalski
The main idea of the project is to create a space for encounter — with history, heritage, knowledge, and people. The building is based on a contrasting composition of two main elements: a massive, enclosed storage block and an open, bright space of the lobby and reading room. The storage area — visible from the public zones — serves as a reminder of the value of the collections preserved within. The reading room, on the other hand, invites exploration, offering unique conditions for study and the discovery of the past.
