Together with the studio jsk architekci we won the 2nd prize in the competition for the design of the ice rink complex of the Stegny Center. The facility is located at the junction of green wedges of Warsaw, in the vicinity of Fort Piłsudski, Family Plot Gardens, as well as single-family and multi-family buildings.

It is an area with a strong identity, already serving as a space for everyday recreation, important for the local community. The main design challenge we set up was to design an object of national importance, which at the same time would harmoniously fit into the character of this place. We proposed an expressive architecture with a glazed main entrance, centrally located on the compositional axis. The building is surrounded by a promenade at the level of panoramic glazing that blurs the line between interior and exterior, inviting residents inside and allowing constant contact with the greenery. The composition of the three bodies was blended into the landscape by forming a gentle rise — a hill using the existing layers of earth. The subtle roofline, developed in collaboration with SBP designers, visually reduces the scale of the building while also being a nod to the local community.
