CONTINUITY, IDENTITY, PERMANENCE

The proposed building of Museum of the Lubomirski Dukes is a contemporary palazzo with classic, balanced proportions, strong rhythms, and an open structure.

The massive walls – woven from fine stone blocks – pile up intricately, creating a distinct gradation of structure, a traditional, almost classical order enclosed in a free composition. The rhythm of windows, initially seen as homogeneous, rigorously turns out to be released from the mathematical grid, creating an irregular yet harmonious drawing. Austere details give the building a clearly contemporary character, inspiring reflection on cultural identity, continuity and permanence in art and architecture
