The context of the idea is to reconstruct Nowy Sącz into one of the world's most innovative multimedia and IT centers, incorporating the functions of an entrepreneurial incubator, a center for research and development, and a center for innovation.
A seemingly difficult location helped to expose the buildings of the required height, owing to piling them up against the mountain slopes. We considered communicating with nature as the most suitable approach, and thus adjusted the form of the objects to the 'fingerprints' of the hill. This created a building consisting of three three-storey cubature lanes, complementing in function. Each part has an entrance designed at a different level. The curved shapes of the lanes are determined by the contour lines. Such a solution is also justified economically. A cuboid block would seem strange in this context and its realization would mean costly adjustments to the area. Appreciating the valuable nature of Nowy Sącz and its surroundings, our project will fill the landscape, with its streamlined shape and subtle details.
The energy balance of the building is particularly stressed. Development costs, but also operating expenditures were taken into consideration. To fulfill this condition, it was suggested to apply innovative, energy-saving technologies, responsible for the heat control of the building, retrieving energy from natural sources, and storing it. The form of the building is directly determined by the shape of the area. Subsequent lanes are placed on the slope one level higher from the previous one, according to the slant of the slope. It gives an opportunity to properly light the rooms inside the lot and, equally important, is beneficial for the building's image.
