2ND PRIZE FOR WXCA

in the competition for the general and ideological concept of the development of the Old Town area located in the following streets: Kazimierza Wielkiego, Bolesława Chrobrego, Spichrzowej, Kasztelańskiej, Basztowej, Włosienniczej, Kuśnierzy, Garncarskiej.

 

On the 9th of May 2014 in the Town Hall in Stargard Szczeciński took place a public announcement of the results of the urban – architectural competition called: The general and ideological concept of the development of the Old Town area located in the following streets: Kazimierza Wielkiego, Bolesława Chrobrego, Spichrzowej, Kasztelańskiej, Basztowej, Włosienniczej, Kuśnierzy, Garncarskiej.

The project of WXCA team won the second prize.

Opinion of the Jury:
The prize was awarded for a clear system of links of public representational spaces  and an attempt to „approach” the city to the water, through the creation of new, attractive utility functions along Ina river and Canal.
Of particular note is the proposed communication system based on the system of one-way streets and trying to restore the city walls along the river.
